Alberto Diaspro, UniGe professor of Applied Physics, is the winner of the 2022 edition of the Gregorio Weber Award for Excellence in Fluorescence Theory and Applications, an important recognition for researchers who contribute in a significant and original way to fluorescence studies.

Named for Professor Gregorio Weber, a pioneer of developments in the theory and application of fluorescence techniques in biology and biochemistry, the award is given annually to a full professor, laboratory director, or equivalent, selected by an international committee.
