The "Maritime Science and Technology" degree program at the University of Genoa aims to graduate young talents interested in the profession of Merchant Marine Officer and activities related to maritime transportation.

It is the only degree program (three-year) delivered entirely in English, and almost half of the credits correspond to strictly professional subjects of the deck or engineering and electrical officer.

"Maritime Science and Technology" is strongly multidisciplinary and involves faculty from Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The teaching structure is certainly challenging for students (it is a L-28 "Maritime Science and Technology" degree) but allows the many officers enrolled to use their professional experience to tackle the exams.

In July 2022, the first student in the course (activated for the first time for the 2019/2020 academic year) graduated, ahead of the average undergraduate student. Others of her colleagues are completing their theses and/or completing internships on board and will graduate in 2022, perfectly on schedule.

The "Maritime Science and Technology" degree is an internationally recognized degree and can give access to Italian master's degrees and "master of science" degrees.
