How to explain the math and computer science behind artificial intelligence in a way that’s fun and intuitive? The Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa) of the University of Genoa will try to do just that with the Meet AI children's workshop, which will be held at Festival della Scienza from 20 October to 1 November.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the protagonist of the technological revolution we are experiencing. AI is the basis of a myriad of systems that we use in our daily life: online searches, biometric recognition, assisted medical diagnosis, up to self-driving cars. But how do these systems work? The animators of the Festival, supported by young MaLGa researchers, will allow participants to discover the languages of these technologies. From Machine Learning to Optimization, from Computer Vision to Natural Language Processing, children and young adults will have a chance to learn, through a fun itinerary and interactive activities, how machines think.
