Professor Galassi, professor of History and Restoration Techniques, illustrates some of the characteristics and functions of infrared reflectography during a diagnostic campaign conducted with Dr. Paolo Triolo at the Palazzo Bianco Gallery.

This non-invasive technique is used, in this case, to investigate purely artistic aspects: by revealing the underlying layers of paintings on canvas, wood or paper, infrared reflectography reveals the artist's execution process in its entirety, thus providing useful information to increase the historical and artistic knowledge of the work.
