Chiara Molinelli, an oncologist and PhD student at the University of Genoa specialising in translational oncology, has been selected by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) as one of the 30 global winners of the ESMO Leadership and Career Development Award 2026.
The award supports a project dedicated to creating the first global clinical registry on aggressive breast cancers of rare histotype, developed under the scientific supervision of Lucia Del Mastro, Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Genoa.
The project will integrate clinical data, digital pathology, genomics and radiomics with the aim of increasing the available knowledge on rare and as yet little-studied forms of cancer and helping to improve their management.
This achievement highlights the University of Genoa’s cancer research and its participation in international scientific collaborations.
