Focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Community Engagement (CE)
.
The University of Genoa proposes a seminar as part of the second phase of the European University Ulysseus, a project funded by the EU under the Erasmus+ programme.
The Ulysseus 2 project includes activities related to the topics of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Community Engagement (CE), coordinated in Workpackage 6 (WP6) by the University of Genoa.
Workpackage 6, dedicated to European inclusion and values, aims to develop high-impact activities to add an EDI dimension to partners' research, teaching and working lives. It also strives to promote European citizenship and to include the underrepresented community and students in Ulysseus activities. The central themes of WP6 are transversal to the activities of the other Ulysseus Work Packages, highlighting the importance of collaboration and an integrated approach to achieve common objectives.
In the seminar, a document is presented that establishes the partners' starting point on EDI and EC issues, and the first forecasts regarding the actions to be implemented to harmonise the partners' activities on equality, diversity and inclusion: "State of play on EDI and EC".
UniGe coordinated a detailed survey of each partner's needs regarding EDI and CE, building on best practices and lessons learnt from the previous edition of Ulysseus and the implementation of GEPs (Gender Equality Plans) in each partner university.
Started last November with the inaugural meeting at the University of Podgorica in Montenegro, the second phase of the project saw the entry of two new partner universities, the University of Munster and the University of Montenegro (UCG), joining the universities of Seville, Genova, Côte d'Azur, Košice, as well as MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® in Austria and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Haaga-Helia) in Finland.
The University of Genoa is actively involved in the project, with several lecturers coordinated by Alessio Tei, the Rector's delegate for the Ulysseus project. Work Package 6 (WP6) in particular is coordinated by Angela Celeste Taramasso, the Rector's delegate for equal opportunities and inclusion.
