The AIRC Azalea supports research into cancers affecting women
For Mother's Day 2026, volunteers from the AIRC Foundation will be in squares throughout Italy to distribute the Research Azalea, a flower that has become a symbol of women's health, with the aim of supporting research into cancers affecting women.
In 2025, an estimated 179,800 new cancer diagnoses in women were made in Italy. Thanks to research results, the survival of patients five years after diagnosis has increased, which is particularly the case for breast cancer. More complex is the situation for other types of cancer where much remains to be done. This is why giving the AIRC Azalea as a gift is a concrete gesture to support research, to build a cancer-free future together.
