Research in the field of Physics at the University of Genoa ranked 51st in the annual global report of the ARWU (Academic Ranking of World University), an independent research body on academic education worldwide.
The prestigious result is based on scientific publications in journals with high Impact Factor, on the integrity of scientific collaborations, on the presence at major world conferences and on the international recognition of researchers affiliated to the institution.
This ranking places the University of Genoa in fourth place in the national rankings, with venues such as Bologna, Naples and Rome Tor Vergata: a ranking that is even more important considering that the first Italian institution in the ranking, the Sapienza of Rome, is in 29th place in the world ranking.
