On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year, held in Rome in November, the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, chaired by Roberto Antonelli, awarded Edoardo Pesce, a researcher in Private Law in the Department of Law at the University of Genoa, the ex aequo "Francesco Santoro-Passarelli" 2023 Prize for the best first work published in the field of Civil Law in the biennium 2021-2022, with the following motivation: "with the book "I rimedi dell'autonomia. Types, Limits and Interests of Contractors" (Pisa, 2022), Edoardo Pesce has provided a committed reflection on private autonomy, conducted from the particular perspective of the conventional derogability of contractual remedies. Moving with technical mastery and historical sensitivity in the codictic discipline of the contract, he has made a valuable contribution to the civil law debate, showing the traits of a young scholar already mature and at the same time highly promising."
