The Erico Fermi Prize of the Italian Physical Society for the year 2024 was awarded jointly to Alberto Diaspro and Francesco Saverio Pavone for their experimental research in the field of applied physics in biological systems.
Alberto Diaspro, full professor at the University of Genoa and director of the Nanoscopy Line at the Italian Institute of Technology, was awarded "for his remarkable original contributions to the development and application of optical microscopy and its crucial impact on cellular and molecular biophysics".
