Andrea Ghira, who holds a PhD in Physics and Nanoscience from the University of Genoa, has been awarded the INFN “Sergio Fubini” Prize, an award presented by the National Institute of Nuclear Physics for a PhD thesis of particular significance in the field of theoretical physics.
The prize was awarded for the thesis “Fragmentation and Jet Substructure in Heavy Flavour Processes”, carried out during his PhD at the University of Genoa under the supervision of Simone Marzani and Giovanni Ridolfi.
Following his time in Genoa, Ghira continued his scientific work at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he is currently conducting research in the group led by Lorenzo Tancredi thanks to a TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship.
The Fubini Prize recognises the quality of research carried out as part of the UniGe PhD programme and the scientific achievements in the field of theoretical physics.
