VILLARD [https://villard.blog/] is a one-year architectural design elective course open to Bachelor's and Master's students.

VILLARD is an itinerant seminar that involves Italian and foreign universities

and foreign universities in collaboration with cultural institutions and local authorities.

Participating in VILLARD are the schools of architecture of Alghero, Ascoli Piceno, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Paris Malaquais, Patras, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Turin, Venice and the school of engineering of Ancona.

The journey constitutes the backbone of the seminar, as an instrument of knowledge of the cities where the seminar stops.

The theme of VILLARD:23 "Retrofront - Between land and sea".

intends to initiate a design reflection around the urban development of the

city of Cagliari. The area of work selected is the humid lagoon area of

Santa Gilla.

The programme of the 23rd edition is curated by the Faculty of Architecture of Alghero in collaboration with the local administration.

The work will be carried out in groups.

VILLARD:23 will be articulated in different stages. In addition to the collective reviews with all the VILLARD teachers, in each stage there will be meetings, lectures, guided tours and exhibitions.

Each stage will last for 3 days.

Between one stage and another

revisions will be scheduled (one or two per month) with the teachers from Genoa.

In the final stage, the projects will be displayed in a public exhibition and the best project will be chosen by an external jury.

All the projects will be published in the series "Le città di Villard".

The expenses (travel and accommodation) and theorganization are the responsibility of

each student.

The first stage in Cagliari will take place from Thursday 28th October (late morning) to Saturday 30th October (late morning).

The dates of each stage will be communicated well in advance in order to contain the costs of the trip.
