Dear all

Since we are unable to predict when the health emergency will end, as we approach the beginning of next year's classes, I will outline below how, as the Board of Studies in Computer Science, we are preparing to face the next semester.

We've got a few loose ends:

  • All educational activities will be accessible remotely
  • All classrooms will be equipped to organize streaming activities
  • At best, we will have 4 large classrooms each able to accommodate a few dozen people.

I try to give some more details imagining to answer your possible questions.

(1) Will all activities be live?

Not necessarily. In any case, everything will always be available in recorded form.

(2) Will there be activity in attendance?

We are organizing to propose some of the activities also in presence.

(3) What activities could be held in presence?

Primarily activities that can be carried out simultaneously in different classrooms under the supervision of several teachers or tutors, such as exercises or workshops. Internal streaming will ensure homogeneity. If the class group can be divided into two classrooms the activity could be a lesson held one hour in attendance and one hour in streaming with only the teacher moving in the interval. In general we will try to give priority to activities that do not involve just listening but directly involve you.

(4) Who can participate in the activities in attendance?

If necessary, we will establish priorities related to who is attending a teaching for the first time.

It is understood that the evaluation of your exam preparation will not be influenced by whether or not you have participated in activities in attendance.

I conclude by reminding you that, as you already know, the exam and graduation sessions in September will be online.

I think it is prudent to assume the same thing for the winter session: in general, unless otherwise advised, the online mode remains the rule.
