An agreement has been signed between Mnesys, an extended neuroscience and neuropharmacology partnership, promoted by the University of Genoa, with the participation of 25 public and private bodies, and EBRAINS-Italy, the Italian research infrastructure for neuroscience, coordinated by the CNR-Institute of Biophysics (Palermo branch) and with the participation of 15 research bodies and universities.

The aim is to promote research innovation in neuroscience and neuropharmacology by pooling data, models, analysis software and facilities developed within each project funded by the PNRR - National Recovery and Resilience Plan, mission 4 'Education and Research', component 2 'From Research to Business'.

EBRAINS-Italy will allow the public-private partners of Mnesys access to resources through the "T-NA" programme, (Trans-National Access): the community of researchers, innovators, enterprises, stakeholders, will be able to both use scientific workflows virtually, in a High Performance Computing environment developed by CINECA for EBRAINS-Italy, as well as physically visit the 21 laboratories distributed throughout Italy, equipped with top-quality instruments and supported by qualified personnel.

Researchers from Mnesys (universities, IRCCS, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, etc.) and those from the CNR will be able to work together in the digital platform of EBRAINS-Italy, sharing data, elaborating models and using specific analysis tools in order to increase the innovation levels of research in the field of cognitive and pharmacological neuroscience.
