We are reporting an initiative that promises to be an important connection between our DIRAAS courses (three-year course in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and master's course in History of Art and Enhancement of the Artistic Heritage) and FAI Liguria.
Of course, the FAI (Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano) needs no introduction (it is a non-profit foundation established in 1975 on the model of the English National Trust, with the aim of protecting and enhancing the historical, artistic and landscape heritage).
In view of the FAI Autumn Days, which this year will be held nationwide on 12 and 13 October, it will be possible to participate as scientific advisors, obtaining 1 cfu: there will be a 9-hour training course (organised by FAI) in view of the actual activity of scientific illustration of the heritage to the visitor during the FAI Days (16 hours divided into two days, usually Saturday and Sunday).
In Liguria, the properties involved by the six territorial delegations will cover the entire regional territory, from the village of Tellaro to that of Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena, to Baiardo and Portofino, presenting the historical and artistic emergencies that characterise them. In addition, the historic Teatro Sacco will be opened in Savona and in Genoa the headquarters of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy in Forte San Giorgio.
The importance of such an experience, which goes far beyond obtaining a single cfu, is recalled, and which could constitute on the one hand an opportunity for professional growth and on the other hand the creation of a profitable relationship with the FAI Liguria.
