Introduced in the wake of the recognition of the Italian Sign Language (LIS) by the Italian state, these workshops aim to bring those who participate closer to the world of LIS; a world in which communication passes through a different channel from the one we usually associate with (spoken) languages: the visual-gestural channel.
For the first time, the workshop will be spread over two semesters (1st semester: basic workshop; 2nd semester: intermediate workshop), for a duration of 80 hours in total, entitling 2, 4 or 6 CFUs* as "Other activities".
It is not necessary, however, to attend both labs: for 1, 2 or 3 CFU* it is possible to attend only the basic lab during the first semester (40 hours), just as it is possible to attend only the intermediate lab during the second semester for the same number of hours and CFU*; in the latter case it is necessary to have already attended and successfully completed the basic lab during the a.a. 2022/2023 or 2023/2024 or demonstrate that you have the necessary prior knowledge.
The lessons will alternate between three teachers, one of whom is a native speaker, and will take place according to the following timetable: Monday 17-19 (classroom IV, Balbi 5) and Tuesday 14-15 (classroom 18, Albergo dei Poveri). The precise timetable, with details of the individual lecturers, will be announced shortly before the start of the lessons (scheduled for mid to late October). Active participation in the workshops is strongly recommended, on pain of non-admission to the final examination.
The seats available are 60 for each workshop. To enrol, please click here (please note: only enrolments from DLCM, DAFIST and DIRAAS will be accepted; please fill in the enrolment form carefully, following the examples provided). As soon as the maximum number of enrolments has been reached, the confirmation e-mails will be sent (to the e-mail address of the University indicated on the enrolment form, which you are invited to check regularly in order to complete all the necessary paperwork) and, on this occasion, the final details will be announced (start of the lectures, schedule of lectures with indication of individual lecturers, etc.).
.
For any doubts regarding the compilation of study plans, please contact the relevant secretariat directly.
* The workshop is open to all students of the DLCM, DAFIST and DIRAAS, but the 3 CFUs (for each individual module; 6 CFUs in total) will be recognised exclusively for the DLCM degree courses.
.
As for DAFIST and DIRAAS, the Boards of Philosophy, History, Philosophical Methodologies and Historical Sciences will recognise 2 CFU (4 CFU in total), while Modern Literature and Performing Arts will recognise 1 CFU (2 CFU in total).
The other DAFIST and DIRAAS degree programmes do not recognise CFUs, but this does not preclude participation in workshops.
