The skills of a professional in the cultural sector increasingly include an innovative approach and the ability to navigate the countless digital tools dedicated to cultural heritage. The Digital Innovation for Cultural and Creative Sector Companies workshop is organised as a practical tool, offering students awareness and basic skills on the digital transition of museums, libraries, theatres, startups and other creative companies dealing with cultural heritage.
Through 5 modules and a final seminar, the course addresses the topics of digital transition of cultural heritage companies, digital heritage acquisition, preservation and management of digital assets, digital accessibility and the use of innovative tools to teach and communicate culture.
Each module includes a short introductory lecture enriched by direct discussion with doctors and cultural professionals from The Egyptian Museum of Turin; ETT enterprise for multimedia innovation; Commune of Genoa - Information Systems; Icom, International Council of Museums. The second part of the day envisages a classroom workshop, where students, individually or in small groups, put into practice the contents they have learnt by experimenting, under the guidance of the lecturer, a concrete project for the digitisation of cultural heritage.
No special knowledge is required to undertake the training course: it is useful to be familiar with the use of the main word processing software, the main social media and web search engines.
