"STARTING ON THE RIGHT FOOT. Personal and language skills for a conscious university experience'

.

17, 18, 19 September 10 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. + final test 19 September 2.30 p.m. - 3.30 p.m.

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures is launching a novelty this year: a pre-course dedicated to future freshmen in Modern Languages and Cultures, designed to provide basic information on the method and fundamental skills for tackling the study of languages and language at university. The didactics, strongly oriented towards practice and the exercise of the aforementioned skills, will include brief moments of theoretical introduction followed by exercises, activities and group work.

In the first part of the course, very practical issues will be addressed, such as organising one's study plan, identifying one's study method, appropriating strategies for passing written and oral examinations, sending effective e-mails to teachers.

Following this, the basic skills necessary for the comprehension and production of specialised texts will be practised, such as extensive and intensive reading skills, the ability to identify and unravel the implicit meaning of texts, the ability to identify the logical-semantic relationships between the words of which the vocabulary of a language is composed, and the ability to correctly use connectives and interpunctive signs.

Finally, for those students who need it, a small vademecum will be provided to support the TELEMACO initial knowledge test.

IMPORTANT! Attendance of the course will allow you to acquire 1 CFU to be recorded in your study plan under "Other activities".
