A solar cadastre for Genoa: agreement between UniGe and the municipality

The University of Genoa and the Municipality of Genoa have signed an agreement for the creation of the cadastre of the city's solar potential, an innovative tool to support the urban energy transition.

The project, developed by the 'Solar and Geothermal Energy' group of the Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management and Transport Engineering - DIME, involves mapping the solar energy available on the roofs of buildings through advanced models and three-dimensional data of the urban built environment, with the aim of estimating photovoltaic production and optimising the location of installations.
