The University of Genoa confirms its commitment to the promotion of gender equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination and violence against women.


UniGe supports "Orange the World", the awareness-raising campaign promoted by the UN that starts on 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will end on 10 December, International Human Rights Day, with a series of initiatives including:


  • 03/12/2020 round table: "Disabilityand gender. Doing research in Italy", on the occasion of the International Day on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The event is organized by the editorial board of the magazine "AG. About Gender" (at the second useful link), in collaboration with "Risewise", the Horizon 2020 project on the social inclusion of women with disabilities, coordinated by Unige (poster attached and live link to the first useful link).
  • Study conference "Stop violence against women", organized by the university student association "Idee giovani UniGe" with the collaboration of the Department of Law (available on UniGe YouTube channel).
  • Conference "Overcoming violence - Responsible conflict management and harm reduction", organised by the Equal Opportunities Committee (available on UniGe YouTube channel)
  • "Gender-based violence: We can and must go further." On UniGe.life, the University's magazine, the interview with Nicla Vassallo, essayist, philosopher and maximum expert of gender studies (third useful link).
  • National Portal of the Single Guarantee Committees (CUG): the Minister for Public Administration and the Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family have announced the creation of the National Portal of the Single Guarantee Committees (CUG), in implementation of the "National strategic plan on male violence against women". The portal, online atportalecug.gov.it, provides networking tools aimed at networking and knowledge of positive experiences as well as the enhancement of innovative practices for the prevention and combating of forms of violence and discrimination in the workplace.
